The Palace Theater in downtown Elmwood, IL is a historical landmark. Built in 1913, it was first a vaudeville theater and eventually started showing silent movies in the 1920s.  By 1930, The Elmwood Palace purchased its first speakers to show the new “talkies.”  Since then the Palace has been a beloved fixture in Central Illinois.  Many upgrades, remodels, and even a tornado have taken place over the years, but it retains its original architecture and charm. From the pristine original brick exterior and hardwood floors to the current-day digital projectors and new Dolby Surround Sound speakers, the Elmwood Palace Theater is a local treasure and worth the trip!
